"GETTING MOSSED"

“There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit... And that’s what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying.”

ACTIVEWEAR

I knew it.

I knew there was something about this picture of Rihanna, more than the fact that she is gorgeous and absolutely rockin' her sweats and divine heels (because everyone casually strolls through the airport in six inch heels, right?)

Turns out those badboys were designed by none other than Mr. Wang himself. Who woulda thunk it. No wonder it's been on my mind for the past week or so...

Now I've grappled with the idea of spending a considerable amount of moolah on an item that most would deem only suitable for bed and quick, inconspicuous dashes to the grocery store and that I would probably never have the guts to actually wear/rock but really, REALLY, can you put a price on stylish comfort?

I think not.

TAKING A BITE

the big apple. one day.

one day soon.

LIKE IT LIKE I LIKE MY COFFEE

The other day my best friend said to me, "you like your black". She was not mistaken...

Black epitomises my laziness. I'm too lazy to decide between different colours, too lazy to have to figure out whether a combination makes me look like someone from Hi5 and too damn lazy to give a f about being lazy! Black is all about convenience.

Speaking of which, a peer of mine who recently jetted off to Melbourne was telling me how different it is to Sydney. I quote, "everyone wears lots of black and it's less beachy". Well put, L, well put. So... Melbourne University, you got any openings?

On a side note, I do actually love the beach though - I'd probably miss that. The bathtub would always suffice though, right?

On another side note, I'm now going to Melbourne for three days later this month - preparing to indulge my unhealthy obsession with black without any inhibitions!

M xx

Possibly one of my dream/perfect outfits... (why do people never show their goddamn shoes?!) If anyone would like to buy me that sass & bide bra, I would not oppose...

THE MODERN WOMAN

Cushnie et Ochs is a label that I've only recently become acquainted with, thanks to NYFW, although 'acquainted' probably does not do it justice. I fell in love with the label the moment I saw the gorgeous white maxi dress in the first picture below.

Obviously, the title of this post is quite an assertion to make but it's exactly what I feel this collection epitomises, 'the modern woman' - sleek, sexy and strong. While I'd say Cushnie et Ochs' Spring collection is more formal and feminine than the designs of my fashion god, Alexander Wang, it definitely echoes the same kind of badass vibe with touches of sheer panelling and leather. Kind of a new take on conservative styles and lengths but definitely not boring (unless you consider bare midriffs and thigh-high splits yawn-inducing). The style of the gorgeous cutouts are actually very reminiscent of Wang's (see here for the A.Wang goodness).

In love!!!
M xx

Gorgeous, gorgeous details!!!

On a sidenote, how bangin' are Ms Cushnie and Ms Ochs (the designers, of course)? Nothing better than designers who can rock their creations as well their models can.
